This is the first in a series of videos that we have created to help our clients better manage claims. Workers’ compensation claims can be difficult and complex, even for those of us who have spent an entire career in the industry. Our goals with these videos is to help you minimize costs, make sure injured workers are receiving appropriate benefits and bring the claim to resolution sooner rather than later.
The first issue I would like to address is referral to a surgeon after a low back injury. If a lumbar spine MRI shows a herniated disc, the primary care provider is going to recommend that the Claimant see a spinal surgeon and often times the PCP will recommend treatment with a neurosurgeon.
