Bettina N. Carrier

Bettina N. Carrier was born in Houston, Texas. After living in Walnut Creek, California, for five years she grew up in Lakeland, Florida. Ms. Carrier attended Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Economics in May 1991.

Ms. Carrier graduated from the Tulane University School of Law in 1997. As a law student, she clerked at the United States Attorney’s Office – Middle District of Florida (Orlando). Ms. Carrier also served for two years on the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law, her second year as an Articles Editor for the Journal.

Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Carrier became a member of The Florida Bar in October 1997. She then joined the law offices of Hyde, Gomer & Derrick, a staff legal office of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, as an Associate. Ms. Carrier’s practice consisted primarily of defense of workers’ compensation litigation, but she also represented the carrier in subrogation claims. Ms. Carrier is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar.

Ms Carrier is a member of the Junior League of Greater Lakeland and The Lakeland Rotary Club. Additionally, she participates in fundraising efforts for the Polk Museum of Art and is a Board Member for Kids Tag Art.
